  1. Audio

  2. Formats include:  wav, wma, mid, mp3
  3. Recommended:  mp3 (will play in both BOP and BOB without a player window)
  1. Video

  2. Formats include:  mov, wmv, m4v, mp4
  3. Recommended:  mp4 (plays across platforms and across devices)
  4. Size:  320x240 or 640x480.  Most any size is fine, however 320x240 is a good, small file size.
  5. Flash

  6. Formats include:  swf
  7. Recommended size:  320x240 or 640x480.  Most any size is fine, however 320x240 is a good, small file size.
  8. YouTube

  9. Add a link to the video you wish to use, and any particulars (ie. frame colour, video size, etc...).
  10. Sizing does not matter (different window).
  11. Weblinks

  12. Add the address of the page you wish to access.
  13. Tests

  14. Quickly add YOUR test questions to a project, without being required to learn about sizing or formatting.  Standard BOP tests include:  multiple choice, true/false and short answer questions.  Each test will consist of 10, randomly selected questions (testing questions can be as many as desired).   Request a tutorial.
  15. These tests can be WebTracked (scored, plus results can be easily consolidated).
  16. QuickChecks

  17. Have quizzes right inside the page!  Very quick and easy to do.  See an example here.
  18. WebReference

  19. An authoring tool within BOP for linking to sites such as Wikipedia (default) or an online dictionary for automatic translation.  If your project has 100's of links, this is a significant time-saver.
  20. Speak Function

  21. Use the computer's Speak function, quickly and easily.  Useful for a personalized message, a short instruction or a simple command.  No requirement to make a separate sound file.
  22. Not available on BOB projects (ie. will not run through a browser).
  23. In-Place Web

  24. Bring the full power of the web into your book!  Don't just link, but have an entire webpage inside your book. Amazing possibilities!!  Use a whiteboard.  Add a video chat.  Live webcam of the place you are teaching.
  25. Message Box

  26. Resembles a pop-up window, without the problems (browsers usually prevent these!).  Click a word and get an instant translation, definition or explanation.  Endless possibilities!
  27. Notes

  28. Use the Notes function on a computer to jot down ideas and concepts, and then transfer (copy/paste) those to a log book, diary, Word, email or wherever you need those notes.  Notes will remember your previous entries, until you delete them.
If using the digital book on a mobile device, through the browser, the browser will remember your entries (API) until deleted.  However, if you enter using a different browser, previously entered items will not be retrievable (from that browser).  This is a good thing!  This means we are not keeping tabs on your actions or movements.
Try it out and see how Notes works best for you.
  29. IP Range

  30. Want to allow access on campus, or through a gateway?  Your book can now be locked to a certain range to allow secured access to books.
  31. Activity Tracking

  32. Ideal for schools and instructional institutions.  Now you can get a snapshot of what the students are accessing, when, and for how long.  Get user data from books that you create!  This works in conjunction with WebTracking.
  33. WebTracking

  34. Tests and quizzes are easily computer scored, and results can be tracked back to an instructor or institution.
  35. Android App

  36. Your digital book can be made into an Android App.  We still control the DRM, so the book does NOT need to be sold via the Play Store, and there is no need to lose 30% to Google.
  37. iOS App

  38. Your digital book can also be made into an iOS App (for the iPad or iPhone).  It is the same process as above (for Android), however, Apple maintains control on all aspects of the App, so the DRM would reside with Apple, and they will retain 30% of the selling price.
  39. PDF File Specifics

There are a few specifics to keep in mind with regards to the base PDF you provide us with.  All pages must be the same size (just like a book).  How you create your project is your choice, but it will need to be output to a standard, PDF file.  This is our starting point.  We convert that PDF into our own file format, and proceed from there.  The cover of the book MUST be a part of the completed PDF you send us.

  40. NOTE: Most current computers run at 1280 pixels or higher horizontal resolution and can run products at any of the above page sizes. However, many netbooks are limited to 1024 horizontal pixels, so they cannot run letter, legal, or A4 projects in landscape mode. For maximum compatibility with netbook computers, avoid use of letter, legal, and A4 pages in landscape mode.
